What Spotify Wrapped Taught Me About My Podcast (and This Community)

Every year, Spotify releases Wrapped and this year, I opened my Wrapped for Creators not knowing what to expect.

What I didn’t expect was to feel this grounded, encouraged, and validated.

In 2025, The One Behind The Lens was named a Fan Fave, ranked among the Most Shared Shows, and recognized as a Talked About Show. One episode was played 235% more than my average, and listeners tuned in from countries around the world — including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, the Netherlands, and Poland.

Those numbers are exciting, yes.
But what they really represent is connection.

People Aren’t Just Listening — They’re Engaging

Being a “Fan Fave” means listeners didn’t just hit play,  they rated the show highly. Being one of the most shared shows means people heard something that made them think, “Someone else needs to hear this.”

That matters more than downloads alone.

It tells me that honest conversations about pricing, mindset shifts, health, and sustainability in business are resonating especially in an industry where those topics are often glossed over.

The Episodes That Performed Best Tell a Story

Two episodes stood out:

  • An episode focused on photography pricing, mindset, and full-service business became the most-played episode of the year.

  • A niche, technical conversation about off-camera flash and dance photography sparked the most comments.

That combination says a lot.

Photographers want real business conversations and practical, specific education. They want clarity. They want confidence. And they want to build businesses that don’t burn them out.

This Is Why Season Two Looks the Way It Does

Season Two of The One Behind The Lens wasn’t created in a vacuum.

It was shaped by this data, these conversations, and this community.

The upcoming season dives deeper into:

  • Pricing and offer clarity

  • Health and longevity in creative careers

  • Vendor relationships and collaboration

  • Signature style and standing out

  • Real, honest solo episodes including building a 2026 photography business plan

Because what Spotify Wrapped made clear is this:
You’re not looking for fluff. You’re looking for direction.

Gratitude (and Momentum)

If you’ve listened, shared, commented, or sent me a message about the podcast - thank you. This show exists because of you.

Season Two drops January 2, and it’s built on everything we’ve learned together so far.

Yay — it’s you.
And we’re just getting started 🎙️📸
