Hey there—I’m Kate DeCoste, and I’m here to help you feel like that person in front of the camera. Based in Wahoo, Nebraska (yep, it’s real—and I love it), I work with seniors, business owners, and bold professionals who want more than just “a good photo.” They want to feel confident, seen, and totally themselves. That’s my specialty.

A Session That Feels Like a Celebration

Working with me is part photoshoot, part party, part personal hype session. I’ll guide you every step of the way with laughs, movement, and just enough direction so you’re never left wondering what to do with your hands. You won’t hear awkward silence—and you definitely won’t be stiff or sweaty. Most of my clients walk away saying, “Thank you for making me feel so comfortable and seen.” And more than a few say, “Can we do that again tomorrow?”

From Big City Stage to Small-Town Studio

Before returning to Wahoo, I worked as a stage manager in New York City and Milwaukee—so I know how to handle details, drama, and everything in between. That backstage energy is still with me, and I bring it to every shoot: organized, creative, and always one step ahead.

More Than a Photographer

In addition to photography, I help creatives launch podcasts and build content that connects. I co-host the Chamber Chatpodcast, lead our local Chamber of Commerce, and serve on a few beloved boards around town. I also travel the world with my man friend Tim (yes, man friend—because “boyfriend” feels like high school and “partner” sounds like we own a hardware store). His awesome young adult kids, Morgan and Ian, are part of the adventure too. Gizmo, our wildly photogenic pup, usually steals the show.
